Once again, Paul Krugman predicts Greek Euro Exit in a interview where Jeremy Paxman, a provocative and abrasive BBC Newsnight presenter said that Greece “like a bad kebab”, faced the prospect of being “vomited out of the single currency”.
Paxo is well known to viewers for his sharp sense of humour which cuts to the quick of a situation, and Greece does indeed face the prospect of being vomited from the euro as it is hardly going to go willingly.
In addition a few weeks ago, in an interview with the Guardian, Christine Lagarde was asked how she felt regarding IMF austerity policies that left the Greek people struggling to survive with no access to life-saving drugs, she replied “As far as Athens is concerned, I also think about all those people who are trying to escape tax all the time. All these people in Greece who are trying to escape tax.”
Greek people have reacted angrily to Lagarde’s comments, claiming that she is unable to separate the lot of the average Greek from the rich elite who have made careers out of tax evasion.
